Although this association is one of the most widespread in Nevada, it is rarely in excelent (A) condition. Thus, the A-ranked condition of the association has been placed on our watch list.
The first photo below shows a site with D-ranked condition, having 15% cover of sagebrush, 5% cover of Poa secunda, and 50% cover of cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum). The second photo shows an area where there is a little cheatgrass at the camera location near the road, but just across the draw, cheatgrass dissapears entirely. The sagebrush is also at a reasonable density (15% cover) with lots of Poa secunda (20% cover); an A-ranked occurrence of this association!
