NvNHP Posters

These are images of posters created by NvNHP for a variety of purposes from our ecological work. File sizes are large to ensure readable text and legends, in addition to reasonable display quality. We do not recommend using these images for poster-sized prints of your own. For smaller prints, we recommend downloading the image to your computer, then using your own graphics software to open the image and print it as you like. To download an image with a Netscape web browser, right-click on the image and select 'save image as'. To download with Microsoft Explorer, go to the FILE menu and chose 'save as'.

POSTER	DESCRIPTION	FILE TYPE AND SIZE
Potential Sagebrush Restoration	This is the poster version of a map included in the Nevada Sage Grouse Conservation Strategy. It shows an estimated current distribution of sagebrush communities and (for about 3/4 of the state) an estimated distribution of where sagebrush communities could naturally exist but currently do not. The sagebrush data are appropriate for roughly 1:24,000 scale maps.	JPEG: 1,245 kB
Estimated Precipitation	This poster was compiled from estimated precipitation values calculated by the PRISM Climate Mapping Program at Oregon State University. The poster features a large, detailed map of estimated annual precipitation and small side maps for estimated precipitation in each month. Also shown are the locations of climate stations that were likely used in the estimation calculations. Although the large map appears quite detailed, all precipitation values are interpolated from estimates made on a 1 km grid. The image resolution corresponds to 300 dpi at 8.5x11 inches. GAP Land Use / Land Cover (mostly vegetation)	This poster is a printing of the land use / land cover data for Nevada produced by the Gap Analysis Program, with 65 classes of land cover, mostly referring to vegetation. The image resolution corresponds to 300 dpi at 8.5x11 inches.	JPEG: 2,507 kB
Cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum) Estimated Percent Cover (December 2003)	Map of estimated percent cover for cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum) produced from 2001 satellite imagery.  An associated report is available from the reports page of this website and the grid data are available from the GIS page.  The PDF should allow a moderate quality print up to 36 X 48 inches. Annual Grass Index for the Owyhee Uplands (Spring 2006)	Map of estimated percent cover of annual grasses (mainly Bromus tectorum and Taeniatherum medusae) in the Owyhee Uplands of north-central Nevada, southeast Oregon, and southwest Idaho, produced from 2006 satellite imagery.  An associated report is available from the reports page of this website and the grid data are available from the GIS page.  The PDF should allow moderate quality print up to 36x48 inches.
