Nevada Natural Heritage Program
DETAILED RARE PLANT LIST
As of the date above, this list provides more detailed information on the 285 Nevada plant taxa included in our List of Sensitive Plants and the Plant and Animal Watch List, including Northern Nevada Native Plant Society ranks; family name; month(s) most frequently observed; elevation range; historic geographic range by county (inside Nevada), state(s), and Nevada land manager(s); historic population trend when known; and the average and most recent years of observation. All these data are valid for Nevada occurrences only, and should not be extrapolated to other states or regions. Furthermore, these data reflect only what was entered in our computer databases as of the above date; additional information for some species may await processing in paper files, or may have been entered subsequently.
Four new data items have been added to this list as of 25 January 2000. The column named 1KM-# / MAXKM contains the number of extant occurrences separated by at least 1 km (0.621 mile; the numbers in EXTNT and EXTRP generally reflect only 0.161 km [0.1 mile] minimum separation), followed beneath by the maximum kilometers between any two occurrences of the taxon in Nevada. The column headed CENSUS / HECTRS contains a rough (generally under-) estimate of the total individuals estimated to have been counted for a taxon, followed beneath by a (often very) rough estimate of the total land-area, in hectares, recorded for all occurrences of a taxon, in Nevada. See the linked definitions for more details.
Click on a column heading for an explanation of that column. You may need to scroll horizontally in your browser to see all columns. You may also jump to the Sensitive plant taxa or the Watch-list plant taxa.
