LIST OF SENSITIVE PLANTS
(28 January 2000)
NOTE: THIS LIST IS OUTDATED AND IS MAINTAINED FOR ARCHIVAL PURPOSES ONLY.

(NOTE: This list may take up to several minutes to load! Please wait until it is finished.)

As of the date above, this list directs the plant data acquisition priorities of the Nevada Natural Heritage Program (NNHP), and provides current status information for each taxon. Taxa considered sensitive and actively inventoried by NNHP typically include those with federal or other Nevada agency status, and those with Global ranks (Grank 1-3) or declining trends indicating some level of range-wide imperilment. In general, a sensitive species is any taxon whose long-term viability has been identified as a concern. A separate Watch List includes taxa that could qualify for the sensitive list in the future, or that recently have been removed from the sensitive list. NNHP passively accumulates data for Watch List taxa.

A separate Detailed Plant List provides additional information on Northern Nevada Native Plant Society ranks; family names; month(s) most frequently observed; elevation ranges; historic geographic ranges by county (inside Nevada), state(s), and Nevada land manager(s); historic population trends when known; and the average and most recent years of observation, for all Sensitive and Watch-list plants. Further information may be available on-line for some taxa in other lists or reports, or as maps or images.

With few exceptions, we attempt to maintain current data on all identified sensitive taxa in Nevada. We currently have no information on which algae, fungi, or lichens may be sensitive in the state, and are just beginning to develop information for mosses. Comments, suggestions, and supporting documentation for additions, deletions, or changes to this list are always welcome and encouraged, as is documentation of new or revised location data for any sensitive taxa.

Changes to this list occur daily as new information is received or processed. Changes from 28 October 1998 through 28 January 2000 are shown in the same color as this sentence. While we intend to update this on-line list frequently, please contact our Data Manager if you require the most current information on any sensitive taxon. Click on the ?? in each column for an explanation of that column.
