The Nevada Rare Plant Workshop is held annually, alternating years in either the Reno or Las Vegas areas, on the first Wednesday or Tuesday (respectively) in April. This two-day workshop gathers public- and private-sector botanical experts and resource professionals from throughout the west to discuss current and new information on Nevada's rarest plant species, and to review and recommend conservation priorities for those species. Status changes and recommendations are made only with the consensus of all participants. The Workshop is co-sponsored by the Nevada Native Plant Society and the Nevada Natural Heritage Program. Participation is by invitation, and requests for invitations (jdmore [at] heritage [dot] nv [dot] gov) of new participants are always welcome. Space in 2008 is limited to about 40 people.
